I believe that one way we can have safe as well as responsible usage of online gaming is sitting down to the youth and explaining the importance online gaming safety. Having a sit down conversation with the youth about gaming as well as the ads that could potentially pop up while they are gaming is important. This could help the youth become more cautious when dealing with online games and not just clicking on everything that grabs their attention. Another factor with dealing with online gaming that I think is very important for the youth to know is the encounters they will have with others through online gaming. The people youth may encounter while online gaming not all conversation maybe nice, respectful or even mature. But one thing I would make sure the youth knows is how to block out negative comments or conversation from others on online gaming.
Online gaming can be really fun but also dangerous to the youth. There are negative things that the youth may come across such as bullying or something such as game addiction. Both two completely different forms off negative things that can happen with online gaming. But also like the negatives there are some positives to it as well such as enhancing memory, brain speed, and for kids learning games. These are three things that online gaming and the internet can help in a positive way for the youth and their development over time.
Growing up I played a ton of video games majority of them dealing with team work such as 2k, Madden, and call of duty. I would play these games to compete with my friends who also had the same games. I think from these games I learned a lot about team work, fast thinking and commutation. Talking to other people on your team online forces you to be able communicate.
