One thing that really stood out to me after reading Rheingold article was how he referred to the internet as a “tsunami of hogwash”. I agree with Rheingold's reference to the internet, the internet hold a lot of random information. With the internet we are able to research literally anything and will get some kind of response whether it is 100 % correct or not even on the same topic. The amount of false information, news, or even accounts that are fake and not reliable. There are too many unreliable resources that put out false information daily which sometimes can be troubling for students to find reliable resources.
Something I really enjoyed about this course was when we learned about VR. I looked at them being used for only things like videos games or to watch videos. But I learned a lot about the real usage and the big role that they play. VR are used to help children with autism as well as elders their with mental wellness. VR play a way bigger role than just being used for entertainment, they play a helpful role for people in their everyday life.
One way I plan to continue building is by becoming more active for social issues that are going on and taking advantage of the platform that I have on the internet and the ability I have to impact others in a positive way. Also staying safe on the internet being aware of what you post and seeing others point of view as well when posting on the internet. By doing these I feel like I will create strong relationships as well as opportunities to impact peers.
